People said they thought this post was pretty good and kept coming back to it. I haven’t decided but I think it is worth at least a single read, if not a double.
Got a new pair of glasses today that I am kind of excited about. I wore glasses for about 20 years or so and then had Lasik which enabled almost 20 years without them.
I am on my second pair, post Lasik but I don’t have to wear them full time. They are technically for driving at night but I sometimes wear them more frequently.
Some of my colleagues say it is confusing to see me flip between glasses and just my eyes. I ask them why they care because it doesn’t impact their vision.
Heck, even at night I can see pretty well without them but I like the enhancement in my visual acuity, especially if I am reading addresses.
Large print is the same either way.
I approach a regular post the same way as the five minute one. I pick out a primary person to write to and then put it out there for their consumption.
Add my intentional focus on trying not to bore myself while I am writing and you have the bare outline of the framework I use.
Sometimes I have made videos with the same intent, speak for and to one person. In concept that makes it more personal and more endearing or so I hope.
There is a reasonable question about whether the personal aspect is appreciated by others outside of the circle.
But I go with my gut and more often than not I find I am correct in my assessment so until I repeatedly get it wrong I’ll keep going this path.
It comes down to whose arms do you want to be in. You can take that literally if you wish or think it in virtual terms.
If you read enough of the written word of a writer you might think you know them and maybe you do.
Or maybe you only see what they share and not what lies elsewhere. Lots of questions and lots of thoughts but none to add because our five minutes are up;
