If I started this post with Even Now some of you might wonder what the hell is going on or how I could say I walked down Coventry to buy the album.
So maybe I ought to move to Donnie Mac singing Crossroads because it is a better description of where my head is at.
But by the time I think I am ready to start the clickety clack of the keyboards and the silent ding of the typewriter I no long use Macarthur Park is playing and my mind is roaming through the kingdom.
It is easier to go there than to spend more time mapping out more ways to push back against the regime and the constitutional crisis they have unleashed upon us.
But I am too aware of my responsibilities to my children and to my fellow Americans to pretend that life is normal now because it is isn’t.
There will come a day when my grandchildren will ask what I did now and plenty of conversations with my children about what I am doing and what they could be doing to protect democracy.
How We Got Here
A friend asked me how we got to this place and I told them to spend time watching right wing media and he might begin to understand how so many people live in a different world.
But I also showed him one of my posts from Threads and said Blue Maga isn’t any smarter than the red.
That is the post above, a quote from another poster who bought into propaganda and thought the best thing they could do would be to hurt the candidate who hadn’t been promising to attack democratic institutions.
I shared multiple other posts in which people who a few months back chose to vote for the current incumbent and or campaigned against Harris-Walz because they vehemently disagreed with them.
Even if I agreed with their fallacious take about the situation in Gaza I would have advised them to take the smarter position and to have voted against giving 47 another shot at office.
Most of what is going on now wasn’t a secret or any sort of big surprise. If you really wanted to make your voice heard you’d think you’d support the people that would protect that option.
It is far harder to affect change when you vote against your own interests and profoundly ignorant.
But then again many of the people who are crying now because they can’t understand how 47 could suggest taking over Gaza had no compunction about saying they wanted to destroy Israel.
They spent months saying they didn’t want two states and if you asked them what would happen to the more than 9 million people who live in Israel they would say they could just go back to wherever they came from.
Somehow it didn’t bother them to suggest they were advocating ethnic cleansing and supporting those who tried to commit genocide on October 7, 2023.
They seem ignorant of their role into moving some who would have voted blue to red.Congratulations protesters, you scared people into flipping.

I am not a fan of 47’s plan to take over Gaza. I agree with the concept that we can’t keep doing what we have done in the past because it hasn’t worked but I don’t see this as a real solution.
Nor am I convinced it will be successful.
Some of my fellow tribesmen have been upset with me because I told them I don’t support 47 or trust him to ever act in our interests.
They asked me why and I said I am not easily bought or manipulated.
Again in concept there are aspects of this that are intriguing because if you can deradicalize Gaza you can do a world of good for people. In concept I like the idea that 47 is going to try to calm down the situation on campuses and hold people accountable for promoting Jew hate.
But I always saw the price of putting him in office as being too high and far too risky. He has no moral core, no substance, no center and is purely transactional.
I can’t trust a guy like that and given his blanket pardon of 1500 criminals, many of whom are on camera beating cops alongside failures like his bungling of the pandemic and the answer was simple.
So here we are with an unelected member of his deep state attacking democracy and wreaking havoc.

I don’t think his supporters have thought through the consequences of letting a crook steal all of our private data.
Those who have children with special needs who have utilized services provided for or protected by the Department of Education might be upset when their children fall behind in school or fail.
Those IEP (Individualized Education Plans) have been a huge help for thousands.
Or those people who find handicap access isn’t required and they can’t access key buildings and services might be concerned.
Let’s not forget how many of out vets use VA services and might find themselves in a world of hurt when they can’t rely upon those any more.
One can question whether all protections and regulations are necessary but they shouldn’t be removed by people who have no understanding of why they are in place.
That is a big part of the problem now. We have people reviewing things they have no expertise in and hope their ignorance doesn’t cause them to cut key elements/components because they don’t know better.
Would you let a psychiatrist operate on you? They are a medical doctor and they might even have some familiarity with surgery but would that be enough to make you feel comfortable?
I doubt it.
That is one of the big issues here and it doesn’t account for the huge security issues these fools have created.
