I left out a part of the post yesterday about the old Songpop game on Facebook and debated whether to go back to
But The Sun’s Been Quite Kind to fix it.
It was supposed to follow the picture from that Facebook conversation about music but it didn’t happen.
I heard a guy at the gym today talk about praying to Saint Donald, the Dumpster fire and asking for his protection. I wasn’t sure if he is a member of Y’all Qaeda or not and chose not to engage.
Not for any big reason other than I was there to throw some iron around and work on getting myself into a shape that pleases me.
That conversation took my brain on an adventure in which I remember talking about praying to my favorite patron saint, Our Lady of Getting Lucky.
It was at a fraternity party in college so it has been a minute, but I will standby something I learned back then if not earlier, if you can make a woman laugh you have won half the battle.
Anyhoo that memory led to one with both of my grandfathers and that is a tale that I cannot share in mixed company and may never share with anyone.
Yes I know it is unfair and obnoxious to mention it and refuse to discuss but those are the breaks. Too bad they aren’t here because we have plenty to catch up on.
Some Of My Favorite Advice
That quote above is what I consider to be some of my favorite advice. Progress happens through tenacity and determination.
It happens through a willingness to work the problem and to sometimes do so over extended periods of time with the knowledge that understanding may not come immediately but it is not necessarily out of reach either.
If you can be methodical in your approach to getting the answers you seek that helps but it is not always possible because you don’t know what you don’t know.
Which is to say you don’t know if you are asking the right questions or the best questions and sometimes you get there via trial and error.
So you have to keep going. You have to keep pushing ahead and looking for the path because you don’t always know how close you are to that finish line.
Sometimes you might stop not knowing that you were within two hours of figuring it out or to use that racing analogy you might be 10 feet from the finish line.
You don’t always know that so there are moments where it might make sense to give yourself a deadline like the end of August or 25 years from now when you can no longer dance in the fire and have run out of air.
It all depends, but the best thing you can do is not just give up because it is hard because there are rewards for working through the challenges.
