Been back in the place where I write letter about dreams and reality because I cannot not do so. Call it a compulsion but not a disorder because we are compelled to breathe and I need my air.
It is a time of uncertainty and anxiety with a double dose of anticipation about a coming adventure.
Anxiety isn’t a bad thing, it is an adrenaline surge that reminds you that you are alive and standing upon the precipice of the next big moment in your life.
In a moment the lead car will go roaring down the hill of life’s ‘coaster and you’ll gain speed so the cars will surge past the corkscrews and overcome the loops with ease.
It is a combination of Six flags and Cedar Hill with a dash of spice and a chance to show the Skipper and Gilligan you can sail through a storm without becoming a castaway.
Hold out a outstretched arm for those brave enough to take it and make like Bruce because tramps like us were born to run.
We’ll Talk Soon
Heard a tale of a trip to Australia where a man spoke of the Sheilas on the beach and the buckmasters in the bush and the rusty tools that they discovered on the side of some road.
It is funny what sort of history you can pull when you go back 18 or 19 years with some people. It is remarkable to think how one day they were new to your life and now so much time has passed it is hard to recall when they weren’t part of it in some way.
Sometimes I think it really cannot be that long and then I see pictures of the babies who are no longer babies standing alongside their mothers and often times looking down at them.
Not in a negative but a literal sense because the children who once reached up towards the sky looking for arms to lift them into a seat now adjust the side view mirror and move the driver’s seat backwards.
Good that their wisdom doesn’t yet exceed their parents in the same way as their height because we are not quite ready for that yet.
Won’t be long though before they are all out and we get messages saying “we’ll talk soon.”
Similar messages are sent to a select group of others, the chosen few whose counsel we wish to partake of. The people who we suddenly realize have to be a part of our lives again because we miss them.
“We’ll talk soon, probably in person, but definitely soon because we have things to discuss.”
