How Google continues to dominate is by providing free services that people need and use. The tech giant isn’t just a search engine any more and every day we continue to see ample proof of this.
Some of my Apple Fan boy friends will read these words and shake their heads because they don’t approve of anyone saying there is anything better or comparable to Apple products and software.
I’ll leave the nuts and bolts comparison to someone else and say this post comes from the tools I use most often. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II phone and three PCs.
There is an iPhone 5C and some iPods in our house too but the iPhone is not mine and the iPods are rarely used by me. In concept if I were more flush I might consider making us an all Apple products home but I haven’t chosen to go that route because the PC option has worked quite well for us at a much lower cost.
What I Like About Google
What I like about Google is that it has put together a set of tools and services that are easy to use and quite affordable. Hell, most of what I use from them is packaged within the cost of my Gmail address which is to say it is free.
I use Gmail, Google Docs and Drive daily and am on a hangout weekly. Probably use Google Maps weekly and search daily. But none of this is unusual, chances are most of you readers are intimately familiar with many if not all of these too.
What you may have less familiarity/experience with are the Chrome add ons that you can use to supercharge your online experience.
Lifehacker shared a nice article about The Best Add-Ons for Google Drive that is definitely worth reading.
These add-ons allow you to add all kinds of functionality to your documents, including signing faxes, creating bibliographies, and more. While it’s still in its infancy, here are a few of the best add-ons available at launch.
You don’t have to be an entrepreneur or business person to need, use or appreciate these either. While some of them may be better suited to business there are lots that have multiple applications for multiple groups of people.
These are tools that help make life simpler and easier for people and that is why/how Google continues to dominate.
